The fall release of Dishonored 2 was a big event for us at COPILOT. First of all, the game was recently named Game Of The Year by PC Gamer Magazine. It’s also up for GOTY at IGN. Why are we so excited?
Deep inside Karnaca, players have discovered a pair of street musicians. Finding these songs is a big achievement in the game, and we were really excited to start seeing game capture videos pop up on Youtube (we’ve collected them here). After all, we wrote and recorded these songs, which mine the culture and history of the fictional island of Serkonos. We really loved working on these and have been excited to see them embraced by the gaming community. Even cooler, “Sands of Serkonos” actually appears as the end credits songs:
Picking up a trophy for the fourth consecutive year, COPILOT’s work for Jell-O won the AMP (Association of Music Producers) Award for Best Execution of a Sonic ID or Logo. What makes the AMP Awards special is that it is entirely created by and created for the musicians working in this specialized field. We’re humbled to get recognition from our colleagues and excited to share this win with Leo Burnett and Jell-O, who placed their iconic melody in our hands.
COPILOT is humbled and honored to have won ‘Most Effective Use of Music in a Non-Broadcast Medium’ at the AMP Awards! A huge thank you to our amazing international team of composers for making “Samba of the World” so incredible, unique and memorable. We also want to congratulate all the other nominees and winners! We are incredibly thrilled and honored to be shortlisted for the 2015 AICP Next Awards. Our collaboration with AKQA, Skunk and Visa for the integrated campaign ‘Samba of the World’ is being considered for this prestigious award. Visa asked COPILOT to collaborate with musicians from each of the 32 qualified countries to reimagine the Brazilian favorite “Maria Caipirinha Samba da Bahia”. Then they asked 32 filmmakers to share how their nation celebrates the FIFA World Cup. The AICP Next Awards will be on June 2nd at the NYU Skirball Center.
It’s quite an honor to announce that our powerful scoring work for the Wolfenstein: The New Order announcement trailer has been awarded the top prize (GOLD) for music in a game trailer by the Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards. We’re gonna go for a joyride with Hans in his VW and cruise around Berlin with our statue.
Coming on the heels of news that Iggy Pop just selected one of our Neumond Recordings song for a curated radio show about German music, the award caps off a thoroughly rewarding role in making the entire Wolfenstein experience a unique and musically immersive experience that has garnered more fans, press and awards than we could have imagined.
ICYMI, here’s the trailer, below the jump.
Two years in a row!
Continuing our success in this category, we’re thrilled to announce that the Association of Music Producers (AMP) have once again awarded us for “Best Use of Music in a Film or Game Trailer,” this year for our intense score for Wolfenstein: The New Order. Of course with the whole business of Neumond Recordings, we almost forgot about the trailer! Click through for an encore presentation: Read more…
COPILOT recently attended the Game Marketing Summit and Awards in San Francisco, where the Wolfenstein trailer was nominated in several categories. We were honored to be part of the event and excited to learn that Wolfenstein earned the bronze medal for Outstanding Promotional Trailer. Woot!
We were once again honored to be honored, earning a Bronze at this year’s Key Art Awards in Los Angeles for our music in Bethesda Softwork’s Dishonored Gameplay Trailer. Huzzah! The Drunken Whaler has become a legend in Hollywood.
The buzz for Bethesda’s “Wolfenstein: The New Order” keeps building and we were thrilled to learn that our work on the trailer was listed as #6 on SHOOT Magazine “Top 10 Summer 2013 Tracks Chart” in their Music & Sound issue.
